[Action Post]: Hey There Skull!

[Sitting on the reception desk is a human skull. Your standard boring human skull with empty eye sockets and made of weathered bone. This skull, however, isn't completely normal. The bone is covered with strange runes that look older than the skull itself. It might be worth it to pick it up to examine them or it might not, the choice is up to you.]

[Nako immediately hides behind a shelf when she sees the skull sitting on the desk--is that thing supposed to be there? Her first thought is that it looks kind of gross and kind of scary, like something that should be thrown out. They said not to damage the books, but that certainly doesn't look like a book.

Unpleasant as she knows this will be, she steps out of her hiding place, though she continues keeping her distance.]

E-excuse me, um... Are you a monster?

[Orange lights appear in the skull's eye sockets and a warm chuckle comes out of the mouth even though it isn't moving. The voice is gentle as if whatever or whoever is trying not to scare the person in front of it.]

Me nahhhhhh. I'm just a spirit sweetheart. Name's Bob.

[kappagirl]

You talk?!

[Despite the friendliness of the skull, she jumps, startled.

A pause as she stands there blinking at him. When she speaks again, her tone is apologetic.]

No offense Mr. Spirit, but... I thought a talking skull would have a more impressive name than Bob.

[That is an interesting thing.

Kale stops and picks it up looking it over.]

Huh.

[honest_axe]

[In his exploring he comes across the desk again, pausing to look and see if anyone was here again. He hadn't seen this skull the last time he was here. Resting his hand on his axe, the Russian WWII dressed soldier paused there, head tilted as he looked at the skull. Interesting. No fangs, at least. He reached a hand out to touch the top, as if feeling that it were real or not]

[Lights of bright orange warm inside the skull and appear to give the bone an eerie if warm fiery glow. Then a voice floats out of the mouth without it moving carrying a tinge of an accent.]

Hi there. Nice ax and for once I'm not using that as a euphemism.

Magic skull and all he says is "huh"

[The slightly accented voice comes out of the skull's mouth even though the mouth itself doesn't move.]

Nice.

Yup...my owner says I run my mouth more than he does even though my mouth doesn't really move.

[A soft chuckle.]

Hey Harry was seventeen and had just blown up his mentor's house...Bob was the first name he thought of.

[And now Kale jumps back with a startled yelp, dropping the poor skull.]

Hey, hey gentle hands there kiddo. Mind setting me upright again.

[The skull has landed on it's side.]

It's hard to have a conversation sideways you know.

[Bending down, Kale picked up the skull and set it up right.

Peering down, he tried to look into the skull's eyes.]

What in the world...? There's nothing electronic...

[kappagirl]

[She skitters back, as if the skull just said something about blowing this place up.]

B-blew it up?! Madame manager would slap someone a thousand times if they did that!

[Or, you know, report them to the police like a normal person.]

He had no choice trust me. His mentor was a bad, bad man.

[Bob sounds sad about the whole thing.]

I hope he'll be okay without me.

[harrys_skull]

I'm magic not a computer kiddo. I also don't come from Disneyland either. Name's Bob.

[And now Bob gets a completely baffled look.]

Magic isn't real...

[Says the Force user.

But then absently, he introduces himself as well...]

Nice to meet you Kale Delvar. And where I come from magic is very, very real.

[The skull is amused by this conversation.]

Hence the talking skull.

[He's fairly certain there has to be some sort of trick... but then again he's also in a strange library with a talking cat...]

Huh...

[Give him a bit, Bob. This is kinda out of his experience.]

[Hesitantly, she reaches out to try and pat the skull. Being patted on the head is comforting, right?]

I-I'm sure he'll be okay. If he can burn a place down, he can probably take care of himself!

[Bob would be purring if he wasn't worried about what people would think of purring noises coming out of a skull.}

You'd think so...but this is the same guy who rode a dinosaur skeleton down a major city street when trying to fight zombies.

[Flynn was never one to shy away from anything, so he marched right up to the desk and picked up the skull, but Flynn being Flynn, almost dropped it. ]

Hey, hey gentle hands there handsome. I'm over a thousand years old and this skull is my only home okay.

[The skull sounds amused and one eye light appeared to wink on and off.]

[Yes, that might be a little creepy...

She pauses in thought, her hand hovering over him.]

...Does that not help in dealing with zombies?

[harrys_skull]

Oh it helped...it was just weird...even for him.

[Bob chuckles softly.]

Harry kind of lives for weird.

[kappagirl]

...He sounds like Ohana, then.

[She would definitely fight zombies astride a skeleton, if she could. That's just the kind of girl Ohana is.

Some of the ease of her speech evaporates as she thinks more on what she just said. She quickly shakes her head.]

She's my friend. Th-that's not important, probably, sorry!

Sounds like a good friend if she likes weird stuff. The best friends are the ones who are willing to stay with your through thick and thin.
