Video Post || 002 || A Request for Help

Forgive me, everyone, it is time to call upon you for aid.

[The Librarian looks tired, his eyes darker and not truly focusing on anything in particular. His brow furrows as he bows his head in silent apology to add to his greeting.]

The commotion from our storybook friends has caused doors to be opened and not be closed as tightly as they should. After tasting a bit of freedom to roam, the curiosity is not sated. Now… it seems a few of these characters have escaped from their books and slipped through the cracks into other worlds they do not belong in.

[Turning his head, he taps the side of the screen and visual images of the creatures from Wonderland pop up on the screen next to the image of Wiltshire, England.] It seems that the citizens of Wonderland have made their way into the country of England and where many stories of these creatures have certainly been around for many centuries, the reality of their existence is not so easy to explain.

[The picture changes and images of beautiful silver white horses with horns slide across the screen before another image of the town of Tombstone comes into focus beside it.] Unicorns are a mythical creature that only exist in some worlds, in stories for others… and not at all for some. They are magical creatures, very intelligent… but they should not be in this historical town. I fear that the people are not ready for such a thing and both the people and the animals are in danger of each other.

[The pictures disappear and another comes up of various animals that look like drawn pictures flick across the screen. Soon the images of Yellowstone National park flick up and tile beside it.] There is a children’s story, some may be familiar with… of animals going through life and the trials of growing up. However the trials of the story are not the same as those in reality. They are not for this place and need to go back to their home. After all, a deer, rabbit and skunk are not commonly seen together, nor are they seen talking.

[All the pictures clear as he returns to the video feed.] This is no easy task I ask of you, but these fictional creatures need to be brought back. And more important, they cannot be seen by the inhabitants of the worlds they are entering. I have been masking their presence… the Wonderland creatures are no more than teenagers having a party in an ill chosen spot… The unicorns appear as no more than horses to the people of Tombstone… and the animals from the children’s story look to be real and not as you see them in the picture.

Doing this… takes a great deal of energy and I will not be able to help you further. However, I have sent information to each of you as you will be split into teams and sent through the doors. The Non-Fiction Librarian will guide you. He will lead you through the worlds in his care as best he can. Use your bookmarks to look up information. I have sent the list of teams to each of you…. Please proceed to the doors, prepare yourself…

[The Librarian frowns, his expression almost sad.] Please be safe. There are things that can and will hurt you if you are not careful. I will do all I can from here to keep you safe.

[Texts pop up on the different bookmark feeds with a list of teams as well as the locations that they will find the doors.]

[She gave a nod to the name, though she had never heard a name like it before, so no, she has no idea who he is or who he is related to. Which for her isn't abnormal. Most people in her adventures are strangers to her, and this one seemed no strange being to her at least.]

[But now that she had a name she greeted him properly] It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Elrohir.

Perhaps entertaining, though I hope no one gets hurt by it all. The Queen of Hearts is the somewhat bad guy of the story. A Queen who delights in [She made a cut ones neck, sign with her finger over her neck.] 'Off with their head', as she would put it. I'm be interested to see if she managed to make her way into all this...

[He doesn't know what a Planet is? How interesting! She smiled at that though, wondering if the World or Planet Arda is someplace she and the Doctor can check out. She knows nothing of it, but she likes to take a peek at new places.]

Middle-Earth? We have a term like that where I am from, but it's to note a era of the long since past. [Or even Mythical Past, but she doesn't say that.]

I think eccentricity is a really great word for this adventure.

[Compliments from Lovecraft, how amazing is that? She just grinned politely as he said the Doctor was fortunate to be graced by her companionship. if only HE agreed too, damn man.] Thank you. You are too kind.

[To think of the man as a lad, looking for a white rabbit? It amazes her still when she runs into people like this. It makes the worlds all the more real, really.]

I'm glad to hear I'm no the only one who knows the story, at least. That should be a great help. The more people who understand what we're dealing with, the better.

[And hello to you as well. Why did it take a few tries? But she's smiling still, what a kind introduction.]

A pleasure to meet you, Mister Kili. It looks like we'll be looking for wonderland creatures together.

[He didn't say anything at first, trying t think on that. Liked getting punched? Did he say that? Did someone else? He remembers their last fight, the punching and hitting, over and over. The words that were said. The emotions.]

[He scowled now to himself, running a metal hand over his face, silent for much longer than he should have been.] You find yourself in situations where you get punched often, don't you?

[He started to move now, needing to keep his mind focused and not let it wander more.] I don't remember being a kid. [he said it out loud, though it was soft, like he was saying it to himself.]

[The scar faced Lady leaned into the video, brow raised and looking at him. Worse how?]

I would think it would make it a bit easier, if not a little weird.

No guns, right.

You would have to find the right one that could manage that though. And what if they wont be persuaded?

[Disappearing? That wasn't a thought she had, but now it made her wonder. She frowned a bit, but spoke other thoughts.]

When the Library starts to become more restored, will things like this be easier for you?

[She tilted her head about this one... though stayed with Audio]

You have magical abilities?

[Despite telling himself not to be too hopeful, he grins at Bucky's answer. Curiosity is a start. Bucky isn't ignoring him or denying things. That means eventually things might change for the better.]

All the time. Even before - [He almost says 'I became taller' then realizes that Bucky might not know what that meant.] - before I joined the army. I used to get beat up in alleys because I didn't know when to keep quiet.

I know you don't, Buck. [It hurts saying that, guilt and anger twisting around. He's glad that he can't get his hands on the people that did this to Bucky... while blaming himself for not doing more when they were on the train.]

I'll remember for both of us until you do.

My boyfriend does.

[Not quite a lie since he doesn't have magic the way that most people think of.]

I'm a demon hunter.

[That should cause an interesting reaction.[

[There is another long pause there. If the man could see him he would know that Bucky was hit by something. Not physically, but something of a memory. Joining the army. A punk kid getting beat and not backing down. That kid sitting bloodied on a --wait. No. The memories didn't link, but they seemed to be memories all the same.]

[There was a faint growl as he rubbed his face at that. It was frustrating, but things were coming to him more and more in this place. Perhaps this is why he stayed here. To remember again.] You still don't know how to keep quiet. [Take that as you will. A memory or a comment in return.]

And if I don't?

[There's a real struggle for a moment]

We catch them alive. All of them.

[There is a moment where she smiles, and it can be heard through the audio. A tone in her voice that said 'I love you' with out saying it.]

This should be interesting.

[He has a boyfriend. She's not at all bothered by that.]

[The guy talking is a demon hunter.]

[Oddly enough it's not that huge an reaction.]

Interesting line of work. It should make finding Bambi easier, even if he's not a demon.

[ Well he probably does understand the concept, but no one has ever used that word before ]

Oh? How strange! I wonder if you are from my future then, and the language and tales have shifted. True! I have seen much in my life, if not so much as my storied ancestors, but this is very odd indeed. Is there anything you could suggest in terms of solutions?

I can set no kill snares. It's the first thing I learned how to do. John wanted me to kill with my hands, not with weapons first.

[He grits his teeth] sorry, I shouldn't have said that.

Nope, I don't. [The answer has the same easy confidence that Steve had had even when they were kids and he was trying not to bleed all over Bucky while his best friend dragged him home.] Not going to back down when something needs to be done.

[Which made it a difficult to know how far to push and when to let Bucky figure things out on his own. He didn't want his friend to disappear on him again but Bucky was talking so Steve couldn't be crossing a line.]

Then I'll keep remembering for you and you can start over.

[It's a relief that the people in the Library are more accepting then the ones Alec usually meets.]

I'm not sure if it will help. Some skills are the same but I really don't know what to look for to tell a talking deer from the rest of them.

A pleasure to meet you as well. Do you know about these wonderland creatures? I have not heard of them before.

[She's seen some weird things. Not Demons, but she wouldn't put it past anything anymore. Especially by knowing where they were and other things can be brought here. So yeah, it wasn't too shocking yet.]

Not to be a smart ass, but one way to tell a talking deer from the rest is... if it talks. ;)

Honestly though, I think they will be scared to see humans, but if we talk to the animals, maybe it will gain their trust. Tracking them though, that might be interesting.

Have you even seen a Disney movie before, buddy? I doubt it's going to be as easy as you think.

Depends on what kind of cartoon-y animals we end up dealing with. They may be having too much fun to even give us the time of day.

Okay. Fine. But that doesn't mean I like the idea of it any better. Isn't there some way the Cat can help you? Or even some of us? There's got to be some sort of alternative.

[Don't you give him that smile.]

Don't apologize. You've done a lot for all of us. I just wish you could get a break from all of this.

[There's a hint of sadness in his voice that he couldn't completely hide.]

I don't think it's going to be easy but they're probably not going to be aggressive. Easier to deal with than what I usually hunt.
