[Okay, she totally felt as though she came off as a giant nerd around the Head Librarian, but that was okay. She usually tended to come off as kind of nerdy anyway. Even in Burnside, though everyone around her was all kinds of fiercely intelligent, Barbara had those moments where she felt like she was just a little bit out of place. Here, though, in the library? She was completely at home.

Even if the place was all kinds of bonkers.

She hadn't opened any books yet, mostly to heed what the Head Librarian had said about them not being what they seemed to be.

She looks down at the gold, stylized bat in her hand. It so closely resembles the emblem emblazoned across her chest and smiles. Even the Library knows how the Batfamily likes their accessories. After a moment, Barbara sets it to broadcast. She checks to make sure that her cowl is still on - of course it is - before speaking.]

So. How's everyone doing? In terms of acclimating? Anyone had any interesting adventures with any books yet? Because there's a few that look interesting, but I'm not sure what would happen if I open them. I'm kind of expecting the books on animals to...act like animals.

If that makes sense.

[Magnus really did not care for having his magic dampened down to nothing. In fact, he looks much like a cat that just had water poured on him as he answers her broadcast on a whim. His feline eyes narrow a little before a brow arches slowly.]

Is this a joke? Something vampire-esque...? Because I'm not sure the cowl with bat ears works for you. Your features would be complimented more with something else flattering to your facial structure, I'm sure.

[The mildest of a smirk pulls at his lips at that.]

The books themselves do not feel like 'animals' as you put it. They feel more like a shell. Not that it makes much sense... are you magically inclined?

[Though, her proclamation of her 'name' explained the get up. He has read comics for Batman, but he didn't feel that appropriate to bring up.]

[Batgirl smiles, a little uncomfortably. His manner reminds her just a little bit of Dagger Type, the artist who had briefly posed as Batgirl.]

Honestly, I once wore a domino mask, but this is more protective. It also hides the identity better. How Dad never figured out who I am, I don't know.

I only know about magic from a textbook perspective, and even then, it's only stuff I've read about from some magicians back home. Nothing hands on, I'm sorry to say.

Yes, that would make sense. Secret identities are hard to keep if too much of the face is seen. It will likely be pretty hard being in a place where your secret identity will be your primary identity now... I am sorry for that.

[He could sympathize with that. Always never letting yourself out would be quite hard on her...]

I see. My magic is down to parlor tricks, but I used to be quite powerful. It's a bit irritating. Even still... I can feel the... difference here. If that makes sense. Not so much anything specific, but that there is a lot going on under the surface.
