Hello!

[A small boy wearing a pair of oversized glasses appears on the screen. He leans in close to the bookmark and taps at it curiously for a moment before settling back and smiling.]

I haven't really used this before, so I thought it might be interesting to give it a try. Are there many people here? I don't think I've met very many people yet.

[The boy pauses for a moment, thinking.]

I'm Conan Edogawa, by the way. And I was curious. Are there any detectives or police officers here?

Hmm... no, I don't think he's from her world. But he does talk.

[And he has a bit of pride, to say the least.]

[Great. Just what he needed to deal with. More talking animals.]

Maybe I'll try talking to him then.

Who else have you met here, so far?

Amaterasu, Bob, Sam and Trance. Not many.

[Nita nods.]

Yeah. I've met Thea, Owen, Trunks, Sunset Shimmer, Rose, and a version of the Doctor.

[Oops! Slip of the tongue to call him a 'version' - but then, he didn't say what name he was going by here.]

And I've met Ammy as well. Haven't seen 'Bob' before, though.

[At least as far as Nita recalls.]

Calling someone a version of a doctor is a little strange, isn't it?

[He frowns. ]

I haven't met any of those others yet.

I think I saw more than one version of him around. And there's a reason that Doctor's just capitalized - his real name's unpronounceable.

[That, at least, she can safely explain.]

Hopefully it won't take long for us to all meet up somewhere.

[And hopefully it won't be an emergency.]

How can there be more than one version of a person?

[He frowns.]

Are there plans to meet up?

Yeah; the Doctor's weird like that.

[Just try watching his canon sometime, Conan.]

No explicit ones, but don't be surprised if you walk into someone while trying to navigate this place.

Just, ah, stay away from any intense darkness.

[Conan stares at her skeptically. ]

Why?

From what I've learned here, it's a literal manifestation of the decay of worlds into absolute nothingness.

Take a flashlight and tell someone what you're doing first, though, if you still want to poke around.

[She's giving you a wry look, Conan; but then, she knows that sort of curiosity. Kind of like her sister that way...]

Mmm, I will! I'll be careful.

[ He didn't bother denying what he had in mind. ]

[Nita restrains her grimace. That still wasn't an invitation, Conan!]

If you don't tell the Head Librarian, I will. That's a deal, alright?

[Not a threat, and not exactly a promise.]

[Of course it was. If it isn't a complete ban, its as good as an invitation.]

Okay!

[He probably wouldn't. ]

Weird? I do beg your pardon.

[He's practically pouting.]

Anyone can see that I'm eclectic.

[And before she can stop herself, Nita snarks.]

Shouldn't that be 'eccentric?'

Eclectic, eccentric, esoteric, irregular...even off-beat. But never plain, everyday or normal. Heaven forbid it'd be ordinary!

I mean, isn't eclectic just not restricting your way of thinking to one mode?

[Yes, Nita is one to be particular about words.]

But I doubt anyone here's ordinary, anyway.

Well if you wish to be pedantic, it's actually based of a philosophy of Earth's ancient Greece. Philosophers who did not belong to certain school but instead choose to follow whatever doctrine they see fit.

Exactly.

Though if you're that too, that's not a bad thing.

I adore humans but their philosophies rarely coincide with mine. Bits of brilliant flash fires.
